History of the County of Worcester..., c. 1793.

The first volume in this collection is a manuscript copy of Whitney's book. This is probably the copy Thomas used to set the type for the book. The second volume is a printed copy of the history with handwritten emendations by Whitney. In the front of the volume there is a copy of a 15 August 1793 agreement between Whitney and Thomas pertaining to the assignment of the book's copyright. Evidently the agreement was drawn up preparatory to Whitney's beginning work on a second edition of the history but this edition was never published.
